Curriculum

Current Curriculum 2025/2026

**Grades/ages are flexible depending on the specific needs of the student.

What do we use for Bible? For 3rd-7th grade, we will be using Christian Studies from Memoria Press. Weekly memory work will be from The Lutheran Service Book, Luther’s Small Catechism and the New King James or English Standard Bible. Memoria Press’ high school curriculum Christian Studies is numbered 2-4. We will choose depending on student’s needs. https://www.memoriapress.com/christian-studies/ “Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.” (Psalm 34:11)

What do we use for Spelling/Grammar/Vocabulary/Phonics? We use Logic of English Foundations for ages ~6-7 and Essentials for ages ~8-11. This is a great foundation for writing and reading as they advance in their learning. Students will be placed where their specific needs indicate. https://logicofenglish.com/

What do we use for science? We LOVE Science Shepherd! These video lessons are engaging and have a workbook to reinforce the lesson. Science experiments are easy and fun! We would do the experiments together on co-op on Mondays. The plan is to follow their recommendations for the flow of curriculum with a Biblical worldview.

What do we use for History/Geography/Literature? BiblioPlan was originally developed in a homeschool co-op in Virginia! They wrap History, Geography, and Literature in one complete package for grades K-12 using a Biblical worldview. Students will have the opportunity to choose books they are interested in from the reading lists provided. Audio books are encouraged for those who prefer ear-reading to eye-reading. We are starting at the beginning with Ancients. https://www.biblioplan.net/year-1-ancients/

What do we use for typing? Touch-Type, Read, and Spell is a fun way to learn typing as well as reading and spelling! The children can go as fast or as slow as they are comfortable in their self-paced system. This reinforces reading and spelling in a different way than Logic of English. Each student will need their own login before the beginning of classes. http://www.readandspell.com

What do we use for Math? Currently, we love both CTC Math as well as RightStart Math. RightStart is hands-on Elementary/Middle School math curriculum that focuses on mastery and understanding math concepts. CTC Math is an online and self-grading program for those who work better on their own for grades K-12. Students will be matched with the curriculum they fit best. https://www.ctcmath.com/, https://rightstartmath.com/

What do we do for Music? A children’s choir will be established so they can sing together. We will also memorize Bible verses and Catechism set to music as well as hymns. We will encourage them to practice an instrument. (We are praying for someone to teach music to our students.)
“Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.” (Psalm 100:1-2) “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (Colossians 3:16)

What do we use for writing? It is important to be able to communicate ideas to those around us. Structure and Style for Students is a workshop and workbook combo taught by Andrew Pudewa! The workshops must be bought as a complete package for each student. Video lesson and instruction on Monday and “homework” for co-op and micro students during the week. We would start with Year 1 Level A for grades 3-6. https://iew.com/writing For high school, we will work through The Lost Tools of Writing. This breaks down persuasive essays into a simple format that can be used for any paper you write. https://circeinstitute.org/lost-tools-writing/
